Santa Barbara Independent Interview

Stephanie Croff, Santa Barbara Independent, SB Independent, Interview, The Dream Is Gone, new music

As a Californian for 10-years now in Santa Barbara County, the Santa Barbara Independent has been one of my favorite publications for music, arts, and culture in the region. I am so honored to have the recognition of my latest release, The Dream Is Gone, in this week’s Fiesta edition, in a thoughtful interview with Richie Demaria.

As I type this now, noticing the growing callous on my index finger where my grandma’s Black Hills Gold ring has been living for a while now, I’m reminded again that I am never alone.

While it felt very lonely at times while I was working on The Dream Is Gone, the combined efforts of the clients I was doing work for, the musicians I was working with, friends and family, were all supporting me in the ways that was fitting for them. Not to mention, the throngs of support from the ether-world of things not can’t see clearly, were always collaborating to help me move this work forward through “chance meetings”, inspirations, and perfect timing.

Now, as I’m gaining strength in the hand with the callous from carrying my gear for the past 6 months, I am encouraged yet again to hold fast to the evolving goals in my heart. More music. More adventure. More travel. More good-feeling sounds. More beautiful faces. More laughter. More love. More hugs. More tears with smiles shining through, because they were shared and honored in safe company.

So, for now and always, thank you for listening. Thank you for being part of my story.
